Jehovah's Witnesses: Who is your mediator?

If you ask a Jehovah's Witness this they will say that Jesus is their mediator. They end their prayers with something like "in Jesus' name". They say this because if Jesus did not die a sacrificial death we would have no chance of praying to the Father God. But in fact, they have replaced Him as mediator. You can prove this to them using questions and quotes from their publications. Here is a section of my disassociation letter. When I realized that the Watchtower was taking the place of Mediator and Greater Moses I asked the Lord to save me. I hope this helps you in your attempt to plant seeds with JWs that you come in contact with.

"Likewise, the Greater Moses, Jesus Christ, is not the Mediator between Jehovah God and all mankind. He is … to only 144,000 members" Worldwide Security under the Prince of Peace, p10

Then who is my mediator?  Who is your mediator?

“There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus
.” -
1 Timothy 2:5 “Christ is a mediator of a new covenant.” - Hebrews 9:15

Moses was the mediator of the Law covenant between Jehovah God and the nation of Israel. –Insight on the Scriptures under Mediator

God’s prophet and channel of communication to the nation of Israel was Moses…  Later, the anointed faithful followers of Jesus Christ were to serve as a “faithful and discreet slave” in communicating to Jehovah’s people how to apply Bible principles in their lives. Watchtower 1993 2/1 p. 15

Moses helped the nation of Israel to keep the covenant and to receive its benefits…–Insight on the Scriptures under Mediator The “great crowd” of “other sheep” that is forming today come under benefits that flow from that new covenant … by associating with the “little flock” of those yet in that covenant. Watchtower 1979 4/1 “No one comes to the Father except through me.” —John 14:6

We have decided to accept Christ as our one and only mediator, as the scriptures state. Can you reconcile this with the doctrines of Jehovah’s Witnesses?

"The anointed and their other sheep companions recognize that by following the lead of the modern-day Governing Body, they are in fact following their Leader, Christ." (Watchtower, Sep. 15, 2010)

  1. You are in error with your assumption about why we pray to Jehovah in Jesus name.  We do so in obedience to Jesus instructions on the proper way to approach Jehovah in pray according to John 16:23, John 15:16, John 14:6.

  2. Through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. - Ephesians 2:18

Do not be misled. Without the Holy Spirit there is no access to the Father.

Only born again children of God have the Holy Spirit. 1 John 2:29-3:1; Romans 8:8,9;10-16

    1. Your comment is incoherent. What is the point of your three line?

  3. Line number three has scriptures that prove that if you consider yourself a member of "the great crowd of other sheep" (a phrase not found in the bible) then you do not have Christ’s spirit, and do not belong to Jesus Christ, and therefore are walking in the flesh, condemned. Jesus Christ says that you must be born again to see the kingdom of God. John 3:5 Everyone righteous is born again. 1 John 2:29-3:1; Psalm 37:29 The kingdom of God includes his coming kingdom on heaven and on earth. Matthew 6:10; Jesus Christ will destroy everyone who is not a wheat. Matthew 13:40-43 There are only 2 classes of people. Christians are born again. Those who are not born again are not Christians. There is no second class of Christians. The JW Great Crowd has no mediator, no heavenly Father, and no hope. Come to Jesus Christ for salvation, for there is salvation in no other name! John 5:39-40; Romans 10:9-12

  4. So, what about the heart condition of many who have not heard the good news or about Jesus to put faith in him?

Additionally, if Jehovah is reading hearts, during the great tribulation and armmagedon, everyone that is not a Christian by your definition will be destroyed?

  5. Hello Steve. Sorry I didn't get back to you immediately. I hope you had a great weekend.

Christians believe that when Jesus returns "we the living who are surviving will, together with them, be caught away in clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we shall always be with [the] Lord." 1 Thes 4:17 These are Christians. Those who are not Christians are left on the earth.

My understanding is that at this time Revelation speaks of bowls of wrath being poured out and chosen ones that preach the gospel and those on the earth will have a chance to repent.

I asked several more seasoned Christians and they do agree that those who are not raptured have a chance to repent after the rapture. Those who are raptured will always be with the Lord. Of course, we know that the Lord will be in New Jerusalem as she comes down from heaven in Revelation 21:1,2.

In order to gain some clarification I read Luke chapter 21 and most of Revelation straight through and I need to do so again for further clarification. I hope that this helps to answer your question.
